Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! Throughout the month of May we will be highlighting oral history and written stories we've collected from Asian Americans, in celebration of our own heritage and identity. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and check out the other stories being shared throughout the US by searching #myaapistory.
We are also looking for volunteers to contribute to the White House and StoryCorps initiative of documenting and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) stories for the Library of Congress, by recording your story through the StoryCorps app, to be preserved and archived by the White House and sent to the Library of Congress. FamilyArchive is volunteering our time to this important project throughout the month of May: if you are in the NYC area and would like your story recorded, please contact us! We will come to you at your convenience and record your story for future preservation with the highest digital archiving standards in the country. For more information on how your story will be shared and preserved, check out StoryCorps and the White House project descriptions.
We look forward to hearing from you and helping tell your story!
